2017 has been with us for a while now and I’ve been busy over the last few months preparing for some new exhibitions. We’ve also been out and about quite a lot sketching in the local area.
Exhibitions in 2017:
WORDS AND PICTURES, TEIGNMOUTH currently on display
TORRE ABBEY, TORQUAY - until Sunday 19th November
SOUTHWEST ACADEMY OPEN EXHIBITION - 14th to 25th Nov.
I’m cutting down on what I exhibit this year because I want to concentrate more on producing a few spectacular pieces! They may not always appeal to everyone but I get a great deal of pleasure from the actual creation of the picture. It’s always a bit of an anti-climax when I’ve finished and I’m usually champing at the bit to start another one. On average my paintings take one to three weeks to complete so there isn’t enough time to churn out too many anyway!
However, still managing to exhibit some paintings and I currently have two paintings of Dartmoor at Words and Pictures Gallery at The Triangle in Teignmouth.
Looking West from Haytor
You will also find a couple of paintings of mine at Torre Abbey near Torquay. These are hung on behalf of the Abbey by Artizan Gallery and form an extension to the International Agatha Christie Festival held at the Abbey recently. Needless to say they have a slightly Christie-like association:
Secrets of the Forest
I have two paintings lined up for the South West Academy Open Exhibition at Exeter Castle later this year, but won’t know if these will be hung until after 16th October
